Betel set presented in a beautifully elaborate box made of brass. It has open work decoration with volutes, medallions, festoon and foliage. The inside of the lid, when open is used as a tray to display the betel quids. When closed the tray rests on top of the compartments. The lid of the box, as well as the four sides, have been decorated with the same design. The box has four little circular feet. Inside the box, the compartment for the betel leaves is in the middle, and on each side there are small containers for the ingredients of the betel quid : the lime, the spices and the areca nut.
