| To the left, brass pounder for lime and areca nut. It is shaped in three parts : larger at the top than the base, which forms the socle. The screwed lid is cylindrical and short and has a large knob with a hole on the top in order to insert the pestle. The pestle finials are bi-dented to enable the lime and areca nut to be pound. Chisel decoration on the base and the top of the utensil. To the right, a similar pounder is shown, but this one is in silver,
with just a chisel decoration on the base. |
