Beautiful bronze container from Sri Lanka. Very elaborate, with volutes in the centre of the larger rectangular box. Betel leaves in the five little boxes which are around the larger octagonal one. The lid opens by means of a hinge, and the lime, the spices and the other ingredients are put into the smaller octagonal boxes which are soldered : Two at the back, two at the side. On the front, there is a double chain in order to carry the container.
